Three Spots for a Quiet Afternoon in Paris

There are many things to see in Paris and too little time to make your trip to the French capital could end up with colors to run a marathon. I offer a different perspective on it: Stop and review your options, and decided to kill a few hours to do nothing but read a good book in a place where you can let. Here are three things you can do it all.

    China House

In America when we think in terms of social place to spend a few hours reading and sipping hot drinks, and shop local Starbucks comes to mind almost immediately. Starbucks slowly build a beachhead in Europe where he dominated Italian espresso coffee in the market, which leaves very little room for this type of drink Starbucks sells.

In other words, no Starbucks stores abound in Paris. But there are many other places like this, and sometimes much better. China House (La Maison de la Chine) belongs to the latter category.

Stands at 76 rue Bonaparte, in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, The China House offers tea lovers haven ideal for enjoying different types of tea and nibble on a couple of "buttons" (biscuits with a light cream spreads from the inside) and other pastries. In "Tea House" is open 3: 00-7: 00 Monday to Saturday. Tasting to give you a chance to enjoy some of the best types of Chinese tea sessions: Longjing Tieguanyin,, Yinzhen and Shuixian. The tea is similar to ancient traditions with a special pot of bamboo, clay teapot and bowl of water, a "Cup of smell" and "Cup to enjoy."

If you also want to have lunch, coffee Shanghai opens 12: 30-2: 30. Their courses are a mix of Chinese and Thai cuisine, with interesting flavors. The food does not come cheap (there are two options, one from 22 , and the other against the 28) but the quality is good.

    The Luxembourg Gardens

Definitely one of my favorite areas in my teenage years. Jardin du Luxembourg is the Parisian version of Hyde Park in London and Central Park in New York. It is crossed by a large part of the city, on the publication of parts of several areas. House was built in the French Senate along one of its sides.

Monikered "if Loco" by young Ward 6 (a good crowd to their own social codes and exclusive parties) relationship, the Jardin du Luxembourg officially divided into sections.

In one of these, children can ride round wooden swing horse, old metal rings and arrested a short wooden sticks. Moreover, there are tennis courts, and puppet theater. The vast expanse of land that faces the House of Representatives French Senate is characterized by water basin where young fleet sailing model.

One of the quietest in the gardens adjacent to the street of Rue base 'neighborhoods. And the shadow of the old trees in the narrow alleys to conclude. Metal chairs lined streets, and it can become difficult to find an unoccupied during the summer as a student, I'd love to hang out and study in this field. After a perfect afternoon for a quiet read or wander romantic place.

Meet Lewis was in 13th place des Vosges

Comfortably seated four rows of 17th century palace before, perhaps the best place des Vosges is known for its art galleries. These works of art more modern breed of gallery exhibitions lining the famous Avenue of the Seine near Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

For me, however, Blas remarkable mainly looking, peaceful mini-garden regiment. 39 palaces around the square with noise from the movement of Saint-Antoine Street (south side) and Beaumarchais Street (east side). This type of barricade also serves as a cutting wind during the fall and spring.

Medium trees lining the fence around the park, which was built symmetrically. In the middle, after the circle of the tree which stands a bronze statue of Louis 13, which tells us, has died at the age of 33 around a central circle, my goal: one of the four green meadows where I can unfold the proliferation, development and reading.

During the summer, there are still some classic jazz formations and play in the adjacent hallway. They play in a very good level, which gives a nice touch to the local atmosphere.

Among the restaurants around the square, and I personally like "What Burgundy" at No. 19. They serve hearty meals for 25-35.

    Much more to come Spots

There is no shortage of quiet corners where some delightful hours was killed in Paris. In fact, I write about a little more in the coming weeks. When you're in Paris, take the time to enjoy the atmosphere of a different city. Do not ride with the hustle and bustle of Paris. I'll see you in time with more food for thought.
